Inca heritage and Andean mysteries: the land of Machu Picchu

Located in western South America, Peru is known for its Inca Empire ruins and diverse natural environment. It's dotted with incredible tourist destinations, including the World Heritage Site Machu Picchu, the Nazca Lines, the Amazon rainforest, and Lake Titicaca. It's also rich in cultural attractions, including Lima's gourmet restaurants, Cusco's Inca architecture, and Arequipa's white streets. Its unique food culture, including ceviche, pisco sours, and cuy (guinea pig), is also appealing. Many high-altitude tourist destinations require precautions against altitude sickness, and coca tea is a traditional and popular remedy.
