The jewel of North Africa, a gateway to the Sahara, with the heritage of Carthage and the blue of the Mediterranean
Tunisia is a North African country facing the Mediterranean Sea that flourished as the center of the ancient Punic civilization. Its unique cultural appeal lies in its mix of Roman ruins, Arabic and Islamic culture, and French colonial architecture. It boasts a diverse range of tourist attractions, including the beautiful white and blue city of Sidi Bou Said, a gateway to the Sahara Desert, and Mediterranean beach resorts. It is also known as the birthplace of the Jasmine Revolution in 2011, and a historic country that marked the beginning of the Arab Spring.
